  • DVBIC June Webinar Highlights VA Polytrauma System of Care

A physician assistant at Fort Campbell's traumatic brain injury clinic preps a soldier for a quantitative electroencephalograms (QEEG) brain mapping.

The Defense and Veterans Brain Injury Center (DVBIC) will host its next webinar, “Advancing TBI Care for Veterans: Updates from the Polytrauma System of Care,” from 1 to 2:30 p.m. (EDT) June 19.

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Polytrauma System of Care is a leader in advancing care for traumatic brain injury (TBI) and polytrauma. It provides comprehensive, high quality and interdisciplinary rehabilitation. Teams of providers establish and execute individually-tailored rehabilitation plans for individuals to maximize their recovery and functional independence. Since it can be difficult to work through the surplus of benefits information at the Department of Defense and VA, case management is an integral part of care.

Traumatic brain injury care is available throughout the entire system of care, which includes five rehabilitation centers, five transitional rehabilitation programs, 23 network sites, 87 support clinic teams and 39 points of contact.
