The Defense and Veterans Brain Injury Center (DVBIC), a DCoE component center, offers state-of-the-art medical care, innovative clinical research initiatives and educational programs to active duty military, dependents and veterans. For detailed information on brain injury and associated research and treatment, check out the DVBIC website at www.dvbic.org.
DVBIC has a number of resources available to providers caring for active duty service members as well as veterans. All products are free and can be ordered through the DVBIC website. These resources can be downloaded or requested through the Contact Us form on the DVBIC website.

The patient education tools for TBI symptom management include five separate one page handouts covering the following topics:
- Improving Memory
- Healthy Sleep
- Mood Changes
- Headache Management
- Head Injury and Dizziness
Unlike many of the other resources available through DVBIC, these sheets are not intended for self-guidance. These five sheets are intended to be given to patients under the guidance of a medical provider. They were developed by Subject Matter Experts from the DoD and the VA in May of 2009. The sheets are available for free to providers serving the targeted population and can be obtained by contacting DVBIC through the website, www.dvbic.org.
