Norfolk, VA – A keynote address from the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Admiral Mike Mullen, scenes from celebrated director Bryan Doerries’ “Theatre of War,” and a panel discussion featuring real warriors discussing their psychological health challenges will all be a part of The Defense Centers of Excellence for Psychological Health and Traumatic Brain Injury’s (DCoE) Warrior Resilience Conference Nov. 3 - 4 in Norfolk, Va.
“This conference is vital to ensuring our line leaders are armed with the latest resources to keep our warriors psychologically, spiritually and physically fit on the battlefield and on the home front,” said DCoE Director Brig. Gen. Loree K. Sutton.
Line leaders will gather to learn principles and practices to increase resilience for mind, body, and spirit to strengthen the warrior and unit to adapt and thrive in periods of high intensity and continuous operations.
The conference will also feature:
- An address from DCoE Director Brigadier General Loree K. Sutton, highest ranking psychiatrist in the U.S. Army
- Remarks about resilience, wellness and peak performance from Dr. James Loehr, a world-renowned performance psychologist and author of The Power of Story and The Power of Full Engagement
- Panel discussion with service representatives on the tactical, operational and strategic impact of strengthening warriors’ ability to adjust or recover from adversity (resilience)
