June 2013 is PTSD Awareness Month

Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) affects an estimated 11 to 20 percent of service members after a deployment. Eight percent of the U.S. population will be affected by it in their lifetime. The more you’re aware, the more you can share with others who need help. Step up to raise awareness of this nationally important issue and pledge to those affected that they are not alone.

Check out “PTSD Treatment Options” on the DCoE website and the post-traumatic stress module at afterdeployment.org for more information.
